Exterior features
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
ESC constantly compares the vehicle’s movements with the steering wheel angle to determine if the vehicle is moving in the direction you intend. If skidding appears imminent, ESC applies brake pressure to individual wheels as appropriate and, if necessary, trims engine power. This dramatically increases turning and cornering safety, especially in 'evasive action' situations.

Front and rear park assist

Front fog lamps are standard on Captiva 5 and provide greater visibility for night time driving.
Active All Wheel Drive (AWD) - Captiva 5 AWD only
The All Wheel Drive system is 'Active Torque On Demand'. An electronically controlled electro-hydraulic differential ensures the best possible torque distribution between the front and rear axles. As driving conditions dictate, the rear axle is employed via an electronically controlled electro-magnetic coupling to give increased traction. The torque split ratio between front and rear wheels is variable in real time depending on the driving conditions
Interior features
Driver and front passenger airbags
Driver and front passenger airbags will only inflate if the car is involved in certain severe frontal collisions. Airbags form part of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) as they assist, but do not replace, safety offered by seat belts.
Side curtain airbags
Curtain airbags provide head and upper body protection for front seat occupants and left and right second row passengers in certain side-on collisions.
Leather wrap steering wheel
It's an easy climb to get into the driver's seat, but the views from the Captiva are breathtaking. Right in front of you - steering comfort at your fingertips.
Power windows with auto up/down feature (front and rear)
Standard front and rear power windows all with Express down and up.
60:40 split fold 2nd row seats

Active All Wheel Drive (AWD models)
Continually monitoring the vehicle's progress, it determines whether front wheel or four wheel drive is required for optimum traction, and instantly re-directs power accordingly, up to a 50/50 split.
Centre high mounted stop lamp
The rear design features a LED high-mount stop lamp.
